We are writing to inform you that, regrettably, following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use the above branch will be closing temporarily on Friday 12 March 2021 at 12:30. 

Your new Post Office service

We are delighted to introduce a permanent Mobile Post Office service in Patterdale. We’ve been working hard to identify a solution to restore services locally and a Mobile service, which is a travelling Post Office aboard a specifically designed vehicle that brings Post Office services and retail products to communities without relying on fixed premises, is a tried and tested way of maintaining service to smaller communities.

We are therefore pleased to inform you that the postmaster from Wigton Post Office is willing to run the new Mobile service, which is scheduled to commence on Friday 19 March 2021. The Mobile van will stop on the road, outside the current Post Office premises at Patterdale Village Store, Patterdale, Penrith, CA11 0NW, every Friday between 10:50 and 11:20.

We have provided posters for display in the Patterdale Village Store to let customers know the good news. 

We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so we are now progressing with these plans. However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change such as access arrangements, on the proposed day and opening hours.
