Overview

We are moving the above Post Office branch to: Mace, 50 Dundalk Street, Newtownhamilton, Newry, BT35 0PB, where it will continue to operate as one of our local style branches.

 As you may be aware, the branch was previously located at 50 Dundalk Street, and now that some repair works have been completed, the postmaster has decided to move their store back and believes this will benefit their business and the local community. Our priority is to safeguard our services in the locality in the longer term and the relocation of Newtownhamilton Post Office branch at the same time as the store, will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the area. The postmaster believes the move will help secure ongoing access to Post Office services in the area while strengthening the sustainability of their business.

The current Post Office branch is scheduled to close on Monday 20 July 2026 at 13:00 and the new Post Office service is scheduled to open at the new premises on Monday 3 August 2026 at 13:00. If there are any unforeseen schedule changes which mean these dates change, posters will be displayed to let customers know.

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed.
