Following local public consultation, the letter below confirms our final plans for the branch.

Overview

We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location: Becky’s Sewing Boutique, 39 New Chester Road, New Ferry, Wirral, CH62 1AA, where it will continue to operate as one of our main style Post Office branches.

Why are we moving?

The Post Office premises would no longer be available for Post Office use. We have therefore had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community. The new premises would be refurbished to incorporate a Cards and Stationery store with New Ferry Post Office service.

We are pleased to let you know that the current Postmaster would continue to operate this service from the proposed premises, and the same range of products and services would be offered, over longer opening hours. Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term. Our Postmaster firmly believes that the move would help secure continued access to Post Office services locally.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services in a newly refurbished modern, open-plan environment. It will be in a dedicated area of the store with two screened positions. We’d also add a low-screened, modern Post Office till. The Post Office would continue to offer the same range of products and service over longer opening hours so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient.
