Overview
Following the temporary closure of Howmore Post Office service, we are delighted to let you know that we will be restoring Post Office services to the local community with the introduction of a permanent Hosted Outreach service.
Your new Post Office branch
The new Post Office service will operate from inside Stoneybridge Hall, Stoneybridge Community Centre, Stoneybridge, Isle of South Uist, HS8 5SD and is planned to commence on Wednesday 29 April 2020.
The Postmaster from Lochboisdale Post Office will provide Post Office services from within the Stoneybridge Hall at the Community Centre on Wednesdays between 13:30 and 16:30.
We will continue to review and monitor service on an on-going basis and should customer usage increase significantly, consideration would be given to adjusting service times accordingly.
There will be a Post Office serving point provided for use at the Stoneybridge Community Centre. The same range of services will continue to be available. Customers can still collect benefits in cash using our everyday banking services or Post Office card account.
We have provided posters for display in the Lochboisdale Post Office, The Stoneybridge Hall, Stoneybridge Community Centre and in local area of Howmore to let customers know the good news.
We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so we are now progressing with these plans. However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change such as access arrangements and the internal layout.
What happens next
Thank you for your support in restoring the Post Office service in Howmore.
