Overview

We are moving the above Post Office branch to a new location: Station Superstore, 49 Station Road, Westgate on Sea, CT8 8QY, where it will operate as one of our local style branches.

Why are we moving?

The previous operator resigned and the premises are no longer available for Post Office use. The branch closed on Saturday 10 July 2021, we have therefore had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community.

We are pleased to inform you that a new agent has been appointed to operate the Post Office from within the Station Superstore convenience store and a temporary service is currently in operation from this location. Our priority is to safeguard our services in the locality in the longer term and the relocation of Westgate On Sea Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.

The temporary service will need to close for the day on Monday 04 October to allow for works to take place. The temporary Post Office service is scheduled to permanently close on Monday 11 October 2021 at 17:30 and your new-look Post Office is scheduled to open on Thursday 14 October 2021 at 13:00. If there are any unforeseen circumstances which mean these dates change, posters will be displayed to let customers know. 

During transfer of the branch customers requiring Post Office facilities may use any convenient Post Office service. Details of two alternative Post Office branches are provided below for your convenience:

  • Birchington Post Office, 54-56 Station Road, Birchington, Kent, CT7 9RA
  • Garlinge Post Office, 166-168 Canterbury Road, Garlinge, Kent, CT9 5JW
