Overview

We are delighted to let you know that following the temporary closure of Sleaford Post Office in February 2020, we are now scheduled to re-open the branch at a permanent location.

Shortly after the closure of Sleaford Post Office, a temporary service was put in place at Pop in Bargains, 17-18 Riverside Shopping Centre, Southgate, Sleaford, NG34 7PD. This current temporary Post Office service will cease on Saturday 13 February 2021 at 13:00.

The current Postmaster at Pop in Bargains will continue to provide Post Offices to the community in Sleaford, from the new premises, at Unit 4, Riverside Shopping Centre, Southgate, Sleaford, NG34 7PD.

The new premises, which is currently empty, will undergo a full refurbishment to incorporate Sleaford Post Office within a new retail store of Pop in Bargains. The Post Office will change to one of our local style branches and will open on Monday 15 February 2021 at 13:00.

Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term. The relocation of Sleaford Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at two open-plan, modern serving points that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed.

The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours, so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient. Customer satisfaction with local style branches is high, and many local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.

We have provided posters for display in the Pop in Bargains store and locally to let customers know the good news. 

We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so we are now progressing with these plans. However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change such as access arrangements and the internal layout.
