Overview
We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location: Marina Stores Café Bar, Holyhead Marina, Newry Beach, Holyhead, LL65 1YA, where it would continue to be operated by the existing postmaster.
Why are we proposing this move?
As you may be aware, our postmasters operate Post Office branches alongside their private retail business, and it is important that they make the very best use of their resources to ensure future sustainability of both their business and the Post Office service. In this case, the postmaster has identified an opportunity to move this branch into a brighter, more modern premises, with improved access, located near the seafront in Holyhead. Subject to consultation, the new premises would incorporate Porthyfelin Post Office within the Marina Stores Café Bar premises.
Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term. Our postmaster firmly believes that the move would help secure continued access to Post Office services locally, as well as supporting the viability of their business and continue to provide the same Post Office products, services and opening hours.
