Overview

We are proposing to reopen the above Post Office branch at a new location: 16 Pine Road, Abronhill, Cumbernauld, G67 3BE, formally known as The Maltings Pub. The new premises, which is currently empty, will undergo a refurbishment to incorporate a convenience store.

Why are we proposing this reopening?

Following the resignation of our retail partner and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, the previous branch closed on Friday 26 November 2021. We have therefore had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community. We are pleased to inform you that a new agent has been appointed who has identified an alternative location to operate the Post Office service, subject to consultation.

Our priority is to safeguard our services in the locality in the longer term and the proposed reopening of Pine Road Post Office will enable us to restore a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.
