Overview

We are writing to let you that we will be introducing a Hosted Outreach Post Office service, which will operate from a new premises – Palterton Village Hall, Back Lane, Palterton, Chesterfield, S44 6UN.

The current Post Office Home Service will cease on Tuesday 21 May 2019 at 16:00. We are pleased to let you know, that the Postmaster from Bolsover Post Office will continue to offer services to Palterton with the introduction of a permanent Hosted Outreach service, which is scheduled to commence on Friday 24 May 2019 at 09:00. If there are any unforeseen changes to the opening date, posters will be displayed in the Village Hall to let customers know. 

Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local communities in the longer term. The establishment of Hosted Outreach Post Office service will enable us to maintain Post Office services to our customers in the local community.

To accommodate this new service, we have made some minor change to the current opening hours of the Hosted Outreach service offered at the new premises. We constantly monitor the number of customers using Post Office services and we are confident that our changes will be welcomed by our customers in the local communities. 

We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so we are now progressing with these plans. However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change such as access arrangements and the internal layout.
