Following local public consultation, the letter below confirms our final plans for the branch.

Overview

We are moving the above Post Office branch to a new location – AJ Convenience, 534 Manchester Road, Paddington, Warrington, WA1 3TZ, and change to one of our new-look local style branches.

Why are we moving?

The current postmaster has resigned and the premises will no longer be available for Post Office use after Thursday 19 December 2019. We have therefore had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community.

We are pleased to inform you that a new agent has been appointed and will operate the Post Office service from the new premises.

Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term. The relocation of Paddington Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed. The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours, so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient. Customer satisfaction with local style branches stands at 96 per cent, and nearly 20 per cent of local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.

The current Post Office branch is planned to close on Thursday 19 December 2019 at 17:30 and your new-look Post Office service is scheduled to open at A J Convenience, 534 Manchester Road, on Monday 24 February 2020 at 13:00. If there are any unforeseen schedule changes which mean these dates change, posters will be displayed in branch and the new premises to let customers know.

During transfer of the branch customers requiring Post Office facilities may use any convenient Post Office service. Details of two alternative Post Office branches are provided at the end of the letter.
