Overview

We are proposing to re-open the above Post Office service at a new location – Thrifties, 110 Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, BB5 3DA.   

Why are we moving?

Unfortunately, following the resignation of Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, the above Post Office closed on 27 February 2019.  

We have therefore had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community. We are pleased to inform you that a new agent has been appointed and will operate the Post Office service from the new premises, where it will operate as one of our new local style branches.     

Our priority is to safeguard our services in the locality in the longer term and the re-opening of Oswaldtwistle Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the new operator, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed. The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services. Customer satisfaction with local style branches stands at 96 per cent, and nearly 20 per cent of local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.
