We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location – Midcounties Co-op, 23 Main Road, Long Hanborough, Witney, OX29 8BD, where it will continue to operate as one of our new local style branches.

Why are we moving?

As you will be aware, our partners and agents operate the Post Office branches alongside their private retail business, and it is important that they make the very best use of their resources to ensure future sustainability of both their business and the Post Office service.  In this case, our partner has identified an opportunity to move this branch into their existing retail store, in a spacious, brighter, more modern premises with longer opening hours.

Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term. The relocation of Long Hanborough Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers in the local community.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the multiple partner, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed. The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours, so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient. Customer satisfaction with local style branches stands at 96 per cent, and nearly 20 per cent of local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.
