We are delighted to let you know that, following the temporary closure of Lochgilphead Post Office on 22 June 2020, we will be re-opening the branch in a new location - 5 Union Street, Lochgilphead, PA31 8JS on Tuesday 20 September 2022 at 13:00.

A temporary Mobile Post Office service, operating from Lochgilphead Delivery Office, Lorne Street, Lochgilphead, PA31 8JH, has been operating since July 2020, maintaining the Post Office services to the local community during the temporary closure of the branch. This temporary Mobile Post Office service will cease to operate on Monday 19 September at 15:00.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the new premises layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed.

The branch will offer a range of Post Office products and services.  

We have provided posters for display locally to let customers know the good news. 

We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so we are now progressing with these plans. However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change that might benefit customers, particularly on access into the premises and its internal layout.
