Overview

We are delighted to let you know that following the temporary closure of Kirkheaton Post Office we will be re-opening the branch on Tuesday 12 July 2022 at 09:00. This will be in a new location – Costcutter, 1 Moorside Road, Kirkheaton, Huddersfield, HD5 OLU.

You may be aware that, due to operational reasons, the above Post Office service at the above premises closed temporarily in January 2019.

In the interim, to serve the local community with continued access to Post Office services we set up a temporary Mobile Outreach Post Office service in July 2021. The Kirkheaton Mobile stop operates from outside the Takeaway Shop, Kirkheaton Spice, 2 Moorside Road, Kirkheaton, Huddersfield, HD5 0LX. This service will cease on Thursday 7 July 2022 at 10:15.

We have provided posters for display in the new location and the local area to let customers know the good news. 

We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible so we are now progressing with these plans. However, we would welcome suggestions about specific aspects of the change that might benefit customers, particularly on access into the premises and its internal layout.
