Overview

We are restoring the Post Office service to the local community of Kirkby in Furness with the introduction of a new permanent Post Office Outreach service at Kirkby in Furness Community Centre, Beckside, Kirkby in Furness, LA17 7TG.

Why are we consulting?

The previous branch closed on Saturday 13 November 2021, following the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use. Since the closure we have continued to work to identify a solution to restore a Post Office service and we are pleased to inform you that the postmaster at Grange over Sands Post Office is willing to extend the current Outreach service to also serve the local community of Kirkby in Furness.

Our priority is to safeguard our services in the locality in the longer term and the introduction of a permanent Outreach service will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers to the local community. To restore Post Office services as quickly as possible to the local community, the new Outreach service is scheduled to open at the new premises on Thursday 10 February 2022 at 10:00.

Why your views matter

Whilst the decision has already been made to re-open Kirkby in Furness Post Office service, we would still like your views on access and the service offered at the new location.
