Overview

We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location - 259 King Cross Road, Halifax, HX1 3JL, formerly the mobility shop, and change to one our local style branches. 

Why are we moving?

As you may be aware, this branch has been operated on our behalf by a temporary postmaster, which has allowed us to continue to provide a service locally. Nevertheless, our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term and we have been working to find a more sustainable solution.

We are pleased to inform you that a new agent has been appointed who has identified an alternative location to operate the Post Office service. The new premises, which is currently empty will undergo a full refurbishment to incorporate a Stationery, Toys and Confectionery retail store together with the Post Office branch.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at two open-plan, modern serving points that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed. The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours, so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient. Customer satisfaction with local style branches is high, and many local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.
