We are delighted to let you know that we will be re-opening the above Post Office branch at a new location – Mulkerns Spar, 1 Finegans Road, Jonesborough, Newry, BT35 8JB.

Following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of premises for Post Office use, the above Post Office branch closed on Wednesday 1 April 2020. We have therefore had to identify an alternative location to continue to offer Post Office services to the local community. Please accept my apologies for the late notification on this occasion.

We are therefore, pleased to inform you that a new agent has been appointed to operate the above Post Office from Mulkerns Spar, where it will operate as one of our local style branches. 

Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community in the longer term. The re-opening of Jonesborough Post Office will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers to the community in Jonesborough.

Your new Post Office branch

Working with the postmaster we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office in a modern, environment. Customers would be able to access Post Office services at a screened counter located in a dedicated area within the Spar stores. The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours, so customers can access their Post Office when it’s convenient. Customer satisfaction with local style branches stands at 96 per cent, and nearly 20 per cent of local branch customers visit outside traditional opening hours.
