We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location - 185-187 Kings Road, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 8HD. 

Why are we moving?

As you will be aware, our partners and agents operate Post Office branches alongside their private retail business, and it is important that they make the very best use of their resources to ensure future sustainability of the service.  In this case, our operator has identified an opportunity to move this branch into larger premises.  Our agent firmly believes that the move will help safeguard the viability of their business, including the Post Office service

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at two low-screened, open-plan, modern serving points that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed. The branch will operate the same opening hours and will offer the same range of Post Office products and services.

To restore Post Office services as quickly as possible to the local community, your new Post Office service is scheduled to open at the new premises on Friday 10 July 2020 at 08:30. The current Post Office branch is planned to close on Wednesday 1 July 2020 at 18:00. If there are any unforeseen schedule changes which mean these dates change, posters will be displayed in branch to let customers know
