Overview

We are restoring the Post Office service to the local community of Cumwhinton with the introduction of a new permanent Post Office Outreach service at: St John’s Hall, Cumwhinton, Carlisle, CA4 8EJ.

Why are we consulting?

Following the resignation of the postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises for Post Office use, Cumwhinton Post Office closed on Tuesday 22 February 2022. We are pleased to inform you that the postmaster from Scotby Post Office is willing to extend the current Outreach service to also serve the local community of Cumwhinton.

Our priority is to safeguard our services in the locality in the longer term and the introduction of a permanent Outreach service will enable us to maintain a Post Office service to our customers to the local community. To restore Post Office services as quickly as possible to the local community, the new Outreach service is scheduled to open at the new premises on Tuesday 01 March 2022 at 09:00. If there are any unforeseen changes to the opening date, posters will be displayed to let customers know. 

Why your views matter

Whilst the decision has already been made to re-open Cumwhinton Post Office service, we would still like your views on access and the service offered at the new location. We welcome feedback and comments that can help inform our plans. In this survey we will be asking specific questions related to the following areas:
