Overview

We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location: Buth Na H-Abhainn, Ford Road, Broadford, Isle of Skye, IV49 9AB.

 Why are we moving?

 As you will be aware, our partners and agents operate Post Office branches alongside their private retail business, and it is important that they make the very best use of their resources to ensure future sustainability of the service. Unfortunately, the postmaster’s lease for the current premises is due to expire in the near future.  Subsequently, in order to secure a more sustainable service to our customers in the area, our agent has identified an opportunity to move this branch into their other retail premises nearby. Our Postmaster firmly believes that the move will help secure continued access to Post Office services locally, as well as supporting the viability of their business. The operator may start to refurbish the new premises during consultation, however the Post Office branch move is subject to our consultation decision.

 Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current shop layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till.  The branch will offer the same range of Post Office products and services over longer opening hours.
