Overview

We are proposing to move the above Post Office branch to a new location – 2 Quay Street, Ardglass, Downpatrick, BT30 7SA, where it will continue to operate as one of our new-look local style branches.   

Why are we moving?

As you may be aware, our Postmasters operate Post Office branches alongside their private retail business, and it is important that they make the very best use of their resources to ensure future sustainability of both their business and the Post Office service. In this case, the Postmaster has identified an opportunity to move this branch into a new building, located next door to the existing branch. The new premises which are currently empty, will undergo a full refurbishment to incorporate a Convenience store and Ardglass Post Office. Our Postmaster firmly believes that the move will help secure continued access to Post Office services locally, as well as supporting the viability of their business.

Your new Post Office branch

Customers would access Post Office services at a low-screened, open-plan, modern serving point that’s part of the retail counter. Working with the postmaster, we’d adapt the current store layout, fixtures and fittings to accommodate the Post Office till if needed. The branch will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services.

The current Post Office branch is planned to close on Monday 17 June 2019 at 17:30 and the new-look Post Office service is scheduled to open at the new premises on Friday 21 June 2019 at 07:00.
